Summer Last Breath

A Day for the People Who Build Things

People who run a business, a brand or a project of their own tend to be good at pushing. Knowing when to stop, and doing it on purpose, is the harder skill. That was the starting point for Summer Last Breath, a one-day gathering held at Tonalí Lake House on August 29, as the summer was coming to a close.

The day was created by RC Meals and Entre Nosotras Foundation for entrepreneurs, creators and people building something of their own. Their premise, as they put it in their announcement, was to interrupt the habit of putting yourself last while everything else grows, and to send people back to their work with more energy, clarity and focus.

The program came in two tiers. The general experience combined a functional bootcamp adaptable to every fitness level, time to meet other people on a similar path, and a set of breathing and regulation tools. The second tier added an ice immersion, an express massage, a prepared meal box from RC Meals and a surprise box. The organizers described the ice immersion as one of the most intense moments of the day, a challenge meant to build calm under pressure, control and clarity.

For Tonalí, it was a good example of the kind of day the space is made for: a private lakefront setting, room to move, and a group that arrived to meet each other as much as to train.

Thank you to RC Meals and Entre Nosotras Foundation for choosing Tonalí, and to everyone who spent the day with us.
